Also in the Instacart was some bratwurst from Aldi, ordered so I could make one of my fave, easy, weeknight dishes.
Sausage and shishito peppers with spicy aioli sauce adapted from @justin_mw of Salt Pepper Skillet and served with cauliflower rice
8 oz shishito peppers
2 sausages, crumbled (I used bratwurst this time)
3-4 T avocado oil
1/4 C paleo or homemade mayo
2-4 T garlic chili sauce
Juice of 1 lime
Sea salt and pepper, to taste
Cauliflower rice, 2 servings, prepared per package instructions
Heat a large skillet to medium heat, add 1-2 T oil until hot. Add peppers, wait until they start to blister, stir, let them continue to blister and soften for a total of 3-4 minutes. Remove peppers and toss with salt and set aside.
Do not clean pan and add remaining oil, if needed. Add crumbled sausage in a thin layer in the skillet and let it brown before stirring or flipping. Continue until cooked through.
While the sausage is cooking, combine the mayo, garlic chili sauce, lime juice, and salt.
Add salt and pepper and a drizzle of oil to the cauliflower rice.
Serve peppers and sausage next to cauliflower rice and topped with spicy aioli.
